There is no reason seniors cannot keep their teeth for a lifetime since tooth loss is simply the result of an oral disease##not the aging process. |

Who Has the Best Smile??? I thought we would do something a little fun this week. In dentistry, we hear it all the time. “I would love to have a Hollywood smile”. One problem though, a Hollywood smile can vary quite a bit because it depends on whose smile in Hollywood you think is pretty. Recently the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), the largest non-profit association of cosmetic dental professionals in the world, conducted a survey of its dental members to determine which Hollywood stars and professional athletes have the most glamorous grins. I thought it would be enjoyable to pass on their results to see if you agree! AACD announced that the winners for best celebrity smiles are: 38% of responding dental professionals said that Oscar and Golden Globe winner, Bond girl and X-men superhero Halle Berry is the female celebrity with the best smile. When asked which celebrity smile is requested most often by their patients, AACD members said that a pretty woman gets the nod: Julia Roberts.
A SMILE THAT MAKES US SWOON Hollywood hunk Matthew McConaughey was tops for best male celebrity smile, with 44% of the vote.
QUEEN OF THE TEEN SCENE 40% of respondents think that America’s teen sweetheart Hilary Duff has the best smile of teen celebrities.
SHE ACED IT Tennis phenom Maria Sharapova aced the AACD member dentists with her stunning smile: 42% voted hers the best female athlete smile.
SMILE ABOVE PAR 59% of responding dentists listed Tiger Woods as the male athlete with the best smile.
